Stephen G. Morse, D.M.D.
Dr. Morse was raised in Maine and associated with Periodontal Associates in 1988 after completing his residency in Periodontology at Boston University. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He completed a 2-year residency in Dental Implants in 1990 and gained Board Certification in 1995 as a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. He retired from the U.S. Naval Dental Corps after 22 years of service, achieving the rank of Captain in 2004.
Dr. Morse is past president of the Maine Association of Periodontology and the Greater Portland Dental Society and is an active member of the American Dental Academy, the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Morse lives in Yarmouth with his wife, Carolyn, and two sons, Ben and Mac. His interests include running, biking, kayaking, yoga and skiing.
Michael T. Cwiklinski, D.M.D., M.S.Ed.
Dr. Cwiklinski is a native of Buffalo, New York.
He earned his B.S. in Biology from Boston College’s Honors Program, his D.M.D. and M.S.Ed from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Periodontology specialty from Tufts University.
While at the University of Pennsylvania, he was inducted into the Matthew Cryer Honor Society, awarded to the top ten dental students by GPA and considered Penn's highest academic award, and the OKU national dental honor society. He also earned National Dental Board Examination Part I and Part II Achievement Awards, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award, the American Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Student in Implant Dentistry Award, the Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis Award, and the Anna and Dr. Louis Wolf Scholarship. He completed his master's degree in education at Penn's Graduate School of Education at night while attending dental school during the day, completing both at the same time with an eye toward teaching and lecturing in the future.
Dr. Cwiklinski is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (Board Certified). He has been a featured speaker at the Yankee Dental Congress, New England's largest dental convention, for 6 years in a row, regarding periodontal therapy, as well as lecturing to several dental societies around Maine and the Maine Academy of General Dentistry on periodontal and dental implant topics.
He started practicing with Periodontal Associates in 2009, considering it one of the best decisions he's ever made. In that time, he has been honored to have been asked to treat the children and spouses of local dentists as well as dentists themselves needing various periodontal and implant treatments.
In his former free time, he was an avid distance runner but he and his wife welcomed twin baby girls recently and he's been chasing after them instead ever since.
Kara Achille, D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Achille is a native of Western Pennsylvania. She earned her B.S. in Human Biology from Cornell University. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and continued on to specialize in Periodontology at the University of Maryland. For her master’s thesis she studied diabetes and implants.
Dr. Achille is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (Board Certified). She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Greater Portland Dental Society. She has also received a Certificate of Achievement from the Northeastern Society of Periodontists.
Dr. Achille and her husband, Aaron, moved to Maine in 2017. They share a love for the outdoors, hiking, and skiing.
